CAYA (Come As You Are) Moms Group is a free support group for neurodivergent moms or moms of neurodivergent kids. Moms who themselves struggle with or have kids who struggle with ADHD, Autism, or other neurospicy gifts face a unique set of challenges. Additionally, the pace of life and demands of parenthood make it difficult to prioritize self-care and social connection. CAYA Moms Group offers a calm, welcoming space for real conversation where you can take time for self-reflection and get to know other moms.
Just as the name suggests, moms are encouraged to Come As You Are. No time to shower? That's ok. Forgot to put on deodorant? We want to see you and smell you. Always running late? Show up when you can. We work to accept ourselves and those around us just as we are.
CAYA Moms meetings are calm and casual. We often have jazz music playing while we color, crochet, or puzzle. While there's no set agenda and open conversation is encouraged, we often use our time together to do a self-care check in and discuss the highs and lows of the last week. Conversation is typically vulnerable and may include difficult topics, but no one is required to share. Members are respectful and encouraging, helping one another through the difficult path of motherhood and the struggles that often come with being neurodiverse.
CAYA Moms meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Don't Make it Weird Mental Health Resource Center in Downtown Buford. Some moms drop in for a bit and others stay the whole time. Feel free to stop by on one of the dates listed below or join our GroupMe chat to connect with other moms and stay up to date on the latest events.
All Meetings take place at the Don't Make it Weird Mental Health Resource Center located at 554 W. Main St., Suite 1100 in Downtown Buford
